Acrylic & aerosol on canvas 91.5 x 91.5 cm (94 x94 cm in black floating frame)
I thought of the title first for this piece after seeing digital devices being used as baby-sitters in cafes and restaurants. I worry that the next generation will lack conversation skills, patience and the ability to cope with boredom by using their imagination. Even those of us from older generations who didn’t grow up with devices are finding ourselves addicted to “scrolling’ whenever we have a spare minute of down time, as we all slowly get sucked into the “Metaverse”.
