This original stencil painting by Melbourne artist Geoff Cunningham captures the nostalgic character of Australian suburban streetscapes. Inspired by ordinary neighbourhoods and everyday childhood moments, Geoff blends hand-cut stencils and layered spray techniques to create bold light, shadow and detail. Each piece celebrates the warmth, simplicity and familiarity of retro Australian life.
"The Temperance Hall in South Melbourne is a perfect example of beautiful dilapidation. The door in particular has several coats of paint, all of which are faded and peeling. The building itself is the perfect backdrop for the small drama that is about to unfold in the foreground - a frozen moment in time just before chaos is about to descend!"
