I love capturing everyday moments and turning them into art - here we have the ordinary act of waiting for your coffee order to get your day started - another day, another coffee…
In this scene, I was particularly drawn to the beautiful architecture of the building, which is unfortunately contrasted with a range of cheap takeaway food and coffee shops below.
I used a palette knife for the background to create movement and texture, and then overlaid that using intricate hand cut stencil spray paint layers to achieve (perceived) definition.

Yes. This is an original one-off artwork by Geoff Cunningham. I may create related pieces from the same stencil set, but each work is made unique through changes in colour, cropping, composition and narrative.
