'Yippee - It's Mr Whippy'

A hand-painted stencil artwork inspired by the classic Australian Mr Whippy van, presented as an oversized vintage slide. Part of Geoff Cunningham’s Summer Lovin' collection, this original wall piece captures the nostalgia of suburban childhood, summer streets and retro Australian life.

There was no sound more exciting than the Mr Whippy jingle drifting through a hot suburban street.

Yippee – It’s Mr Whippy turns that memory into a hand-painted object artwork, combining a custom slide-mount construction with Geoff Cunningham’s layered stencil technique. The familiar pink van sits against a bright sky and palm trees, echoing the saturated colour and sunlit simplicity of old family slides.

Part painting, part object, the work is designed to feel like an enlarged vintage transparency — a nostalgic snapshot of Australian childhood reimagined as contemporary wall art. Each work in the Stencilchrome series is designed to stand alone or sit beautifully as part of a grouped hang.
